Living with parrots

Parrots are engaging and fascinating creatures.  Their personalities and needs differ based on their species, ages, and sexes.

Before you bring home a parrot, we urge you to research their unique requirements and make an informed decision.

Parrots are messy.

Parrots are noisy.

Parrots require a great deal of time and attention or they may suffer from behavioral problems.

Housing, feeding and vet care are more expensive than for other pets.

Parrots can live for decades.

Make sure you understand the commitment before you decide to bring home a parrot!

So why parrots?

A lot of people ask us why have parrots as companions and not dogs or cats or fish or any other pet?

We have found parrots to be the best companion animal we have ever lived with.

They offer friendship and companionship on their terms, not yours.  One must earn their trust and love as it does not always come naturally.

They are smart, adaptable, funny, and challenging.

They are always surprising you, even after years of what you think is consistent behavior.  They keep you on your toes.

Above all, they force you to live in the moment each and every day and enjoy each precious moment of life!
